Abstract: Machine Learning and Human Disempowerment: What Future?
In recent years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has undergone significant progress, profoundly altering human life. A subset of artificial intelligence is Machine Learning (ML), which focuses on developing systems that can learn from data, identify patterns, and make decisions with minimal human intervention. ML works on the principle that machines can receive data and use it to improve themselves through learning. In this context, neural networks are versatile tools applicable to a wide range of machine learning tasks, including pattern recognition, image classification, time series forecasting, and natural language processing. A dynamically evolving phenomenon, which raises reflections regarding the redefinition of human capabilities. The interaction between human beings and artificial systems could be of great use to human beings, but this does not mean that there are many ethical problems raised, especially regarding the possible hybridization between body and technology. These technologies, in fact, presented as innovative and revolutionary for human beings, could radically change the nature of human beings. The final objective is to investigate the ethical implications inherent to these issues.
