Abstract: “If Men Could Love”: Law, War and Peace in the Thought of Francesco Carnelutti
Thinking about peace after long and painful years of war is a difficult undertaking especially from the point of view of lasting solutions. At the end of the Second World War, Francesco Carnelutti reflects on the years just passed. He offers a non-specialised audience acute reflection on law’s function as a temporary instrument of peace. The latter will be accomplished only when men truly learn love’s law.
