Abstract: Human Rights and Corruption: the Interface between Power and Development in the Inter-American Convention against Corruption
Corruption means abuse of power that replaces the public interest with the private interest. In its origin, founded in patristic philosophy, it was indicated as form of degeneration of the common good. In the current international conventions, the meaning of degeneration is mentioned, but is linked to the impediment to development. In this context, the meaning of corruption will be investigated under the Inter-American Convention against Corruption.
