Abstract: The Liberal Role of “Sovereignism”
Sovereignism is not a defined political concept, rather a way to identify political parties, movements and leaders that, more or less consciously, oppose the globalisation ideology. Globalism, born from the synthesis between neoliberalism and liberal culture, became the supporting ideology and the justification of the globalisation process. Sovereignism represents the crisis of the globalisation and its ideology of enlightening and radical culture; it represents, even with all its contradictions, moving towards new syntheses more respectful of demos and freedom. Although different from liberalism, sovereignism represents a liberal purpose.
