Abstract
The most common distinction in moral philosophy is that between “consequentialism” and “deonto-logy”. Although social experience indicates its falsity, the latter of these theories, beginning with Kant’s critical philosophy, that separates moral value from any social consideration, has destroyed social morality, reducing morals to justice, as in Rawls theory. As indicated by some authors as Taylor, Sandel or Walzer, primacy of “doing right” over “being good” had produced the paradox (as in Habermas) of some ethics of tolerance, liberty and pluralism founded exclusively on law and on the power of the State.
